Biography
(Al-Hamedat) Their grandfather, Sharif Ahmed, the owner of the blessed shrine in the town of Gemayel in the west of Libya. And next to it is a mosque named after him and a Quranic school for teaching the Qur’an and Sharia, and the father of Sharif Ahmed is Sharif Wali Abu Hamid, named Al-Saqafi, and he is buried in his orchard in the land of Qawasim in Gharyan. The title of the Alsharif Abu Hamida al-Saqafi has a famous story recorded in their genealogical tree, as their ancient ancestors in the Moroccan countries built a house in the area of al-Fajeej and named it al-Saqifa, and it became a remark for them and in which they are the Saqafis. And the righteous guardian, Abu Hamida bin Abd al-Rahman al-Saqafi, famous for al-Baaj – may God be pleased with him – has many honors, among which it is narrated that the feral animals used to sympathize and gather with him and other domestic animals and do not oppress each other.
